This is a small acorn shaped box made out of Macassar Ebony (Diospyros celebica) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. Macassar Ebony is named for the port city of Makassar in Indonesia. It is a special ebony, often adorned with dark and light stripes. It is a bit hard to thread, since the ebonized, black areas are much harder than the lighter ones, making for a bumpy ride. But what a beautiful timber it is! Capped with another species of Raphia palm, sporting random spots on a green tinted, ivory background. This is one fun acorn, and the smallest acorn box without the metal clasp

Good for small daily pills, keepsake...Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
