This is a small acorn shaped box made out of Lignum Vitae Sapwood (Guiacum officinale) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. Genuine Lignum Vitae is quite famous for being "the densest wood in the world", to the extend that it was used to make ball bearings for ships because it also last and last under water. The wood is also believed to have medicinal properties in its resins and chips; "Lignum Vitae" is Latin for "Wood of Life." Official National Flower of Jamaica, the timber is now rare and expensive. This nut will eventually turn greenish with light exposure.

It is ready to dangle off your keychain, bag zipper, belt with the removable lobster claw. The nut is small enough to be worn as a pendant (without the claw).
