This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Port Orford Cedar (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana) & Black Oak Burl (Quercus kelloggii) cap.  Here is a special acorn from the Pacific North West.  I missed the aroma of Port Orford Cedar, so I dug out a blank and made something out of it.  The workshop smell so good afterward!  This is one of the more intense aromatic wood.  I left the inside of this acorn un-finished so you can smell it every time the cap is removed.  The cap, what a gorgeous piece of burly black oak it is!  This is the local black oak, the one with leaves that turns yellow in the Fall.
