This is a nice acorn box made out of Osage Orange (Maclura pomifera) with Black Palm (Borassus flabellifer) cap. A hedge tree found in south Oklahoma to Northern Texas, the Osage Orange is one of America's most colorful timber.  The bright yellow wood simmers and glow, specially when turned cross-grain like in this decent sized acorn box.  Capped with black palm, national tree of Cambodia. The unique polka dot pattern of the palm serves well as acorn cap for this bright nut.
