This is an interesting keychain attachment made out of Ziricote (Cordia dodecandra). Ziricote is known for it's fantastic landscape figure. I turned this acorn cross-grained to show precisely that. The wood is hard and polished up to a lustrous sheen.

The attachment is removable via a double split ring so you can also use this pretty item as a pendant. Now-a-days, with all the synthetic This and alternative That, real wood is increasingly hard to find. It is advisable to carry your own piece of real wood within reach, just in case you find yourself in situations when you need to "knock on wood"...
