This is a pretty slim threaded holder made out of Camatillo (Dalbergia congestiflora) with Mun Ebony (Diopsyros mun) cap.  Camatillo is a true rosewood species with a beautiful deep purple color and darker streaks.  It is one of the rarer rosewood since the tree never grow very big.  The wood is extremely fine and a pleasure to work with.  Here, you have a very figured piece of camatillo, turned cross-grain to show the incredible pattern. Camatillo is a species that I am actively hoarding.  The cap of this acorn is made from a true ebony, another wood on my hoarding list!.  This is nice!
