This is a small acorn shaped box made out of Black Persimmon (Diospyros digyna) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap.  I have never seen a more colorful ebony than this species: green , red, pink, yellow intermixed.   It is a true ebony that preserves it's multicolor hues very well.  Beside the beautiful wood, the tree yields edible fruit.  I have never seen a black persimmon before, but it's on my list of things to try.  For now, I am enjoying this little pretty acorn.  Limited.
