This is a very special mushroom shaped pendant box made out of American Holly (Ilex opaca) with Nubian Desert Palm Nut (Medemia argun) cap. Nubian palm is native only to the arid desert of Sudan and thought to be extinct until recently. The fruits were found buried in ancient Egyptian tombs. The polka dot pattern and the semi-translucent nut serves perfectly as a mushroom cap! White Holly, the whitest wood available, made a nice stalk!
The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, yet can be easily accessed. If you want a permanent seal, apply a very small amount of wood glue to the thread before closing.
