This is a nice sized acorn box made out of Balsamo (Myroxylon balsamum) with Black Palm (Borassus flabellifer) cap. Balsam is extract from this tree and used in cosmetic and medicine.  The wood suppose to have a distinctive fragrance, but I did not detect much.  It is deep red, with subtle streaks.  The black palm cap adds visual interest with it's striking pattern.
