This is an acorn shaped box made out of Buckeye Burl (Aesculus californica) with Hawaiian Kou (Cordia subcordata) cap.  Around here, the magnificent buckeyes are decorated with dangling fruits, giving me the urge to polish up  the one-of-a-kind buckeye burl. Capped with Hawaiian Kou, a rare dark wood with lighter streaks.  This adorable acorn is special, in term of shape and color combination. If you tell people this one was made out of woods with totally natural colors, very few would believe you (unless they are the timber specialist); and if you show them the threaded parts, they would be even more doubtful. Threaded buckeye burl? I am sure this is the only place you can get it.
