This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Marblewood (Marmaroxylon racemosum) with East Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia) cap. Marblewood is a unique timber with such a bold figure. I know why it's called Marblewood. The random dark veins give it an appearance somewhat similar to natural marble, but the real reason is the thing is so hard and heavy like a block of stone. I was surprised at how hard it is considering the porous look. It is one of the more distinctively beautiful timber with the high contrast dark streaks wandering through the light background. Accented with the East Indian rosewood that has a purple tint to compliment the Marblewood for pleasing visual effect. I like this one!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
