This is a tiny acorn shaped box made out of Mun Ebony (Diospyros mun) with Lignum Vitae (Guiacum officinale) cap. Mun Ebony is my favorite ebony species for several reasons: the wood is very fine and easy to work with, the patterns can be very striking and a hint of green tint make this ebony special, the wood is very stable, dimensionally. This particular small acorn was made from very dark Mun. Partner with true Lignum Vitae, the hardest and heaviest wood wood from the New World. "Lignum Vitae" is Latin for "Wood of Life" due to it's medicinal property. Official National Flower of Jamaica, the timber is now rare and expensive. What's more, it can eventually develop a dark green patina, one of a very few woods that just gets greener as it aged! These hard and heavy woods are just perfect for the making of tiny acorns, like this one!

It is ready to dangle off your keychain, bag zipper, belt with the removable lobster claw. The nut is small enough to be worn as a pendant (without the claw). Good for small daily pills, keepsake...Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
