This is a mini pendant box made out of Purpleheart (Peltogyne paniculata) with African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) cap. Purpleheart is a special wood that quickly turns purple after exposure. The color will deepen with time. This is one of my favorite wood for it's unique color and high density. There is also something fun about this pendant: do you see a doll with a chignon and a purple dress? Didn't meant to make a doll, but wood turning can be full of surprises!

This tiny threaded vial is small enough to be worn as a pendant with a secret compartment for small daily pills or memorial keepsake. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured.

Dimension (largest diameter x height): 5/8" x 1-5/8"

-- All wood turned items were hand made and/or hand threaded on a lathe. Hardwood threaded inserts were used for woods that do not accept threading well.
-- The item was sanded to 1200 grid for a mirror finish and sealed with a food-safe varnish, if applicable. For hard, fine grained wood with a natural shine, only wax and oil was applied.
