This is a mini pendant box made out of Camatillo (Dalbergia congestiflora) with Lignum Vitae (Guiacum officinale) cap.  Camatillo is a true rosewood species with a beautiful deep purple color and darker streaks.  It is one of the rarer rosewood since the tree never grow very big.  The wood is extremely fine and a pleasure to work with.  It is a species that I actively hoarding.  Genuine Lignum Vitae is quite famous for being "the densest wood in the world". The wood is also believed to have medicinal properties in its resins and chips; "Lignum Vitae" is Latin for "Wood of Life."  True Lignum is now rare and expensive.  I particularly like this combination of timbers.  

This tiny threaded vial is small enough to be worn as a pendant with a secret compartment for small daily pills or memorial keepsake. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured. For a permanent seal, apply a small amount of wood glue to the threads before closing.

-- All wood turned items were hand made and/or hand threaded on a lathe. Hardwood threaded inserts were used for woods that do not accept threading well.
-- The item was sanded to 1200 grid for a mirror finish and sealed with a food-safe varnish, if applicable. For hard, fine grained wood with a natural shine, only wax and oil was applied.
