This is a nice mini acorn box made out of Agarita Burl (Mahonia trifoliolata) with Betel Nut (Areca catechu) cap. Agarita is a small shrub native to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Only the root ball or burl is large enough for turning. It is, therefore, a rare commodity, timber-wise. The complex pattern and color of this piece invite visual exploration. The bright yellow wood yield a dye, and the red berries from the shrub is edible. The unique pattern on the betel nut add another level of complexity to this small nut!
This small acorn box has a removable swivel lobster claw attachment for keychain, lanyard, zipper pull, rearview mirror. It is also small enough to be worn as a pill pendant or cremation jewelry. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured. Great for small daily pills or any small things you want to have access on the go...It is also a unique gift since acorn is a symbol of good luck and prosperity.
