This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Australian Golden Wood (Monotoca glauca) with with Greenheart (Chlorocardium rodiei) cap. Endemic to Australia, the Golden wood is a rare timber with a beautiful reddish-orange tone. I was very lucky to obtain a small quantity of this rare species and have never seen it offered again anywhere. Greenheart was on my wish list for a long time before I can obtain a decent stash. The bright orange nut and the yellow -green cap give this acorn an interesting color combination not often seen in wooden objects. I like this one!
