This is a mini pendant box made out of Marblewood (Marmaroxylon racemosum) with African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanocylon) cap. I know why it's called Marblewood. The random dark veins give it an appearance somewhat similar to natural marble, but the real reason is the thing is so hard and heavy like a block of stone. I was surpise at how hard it is considering the porous look. It is one of the more distinctively beautiful timber with the high contrast dark streaks wandering through the light background. The plug type cap was also fashioned from an extremely hard timber, the darkest of all wood. This pendant is ready to wear with a 20" waxed cotton cord. The accent beads add a little sparkle to this ensemble, yet retain it natural, earthy charm.

This pretty pendant has a tiny secret compartment for very small daily pills or memorial keepsake. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, yet can be easily accessed. If you want a permanent seal, apply a very small amount of wood glue to the thread before closing.
