This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Curly Buckeye Burl (Aesculus californica) with Black Palm (Borassus flabellifer) cap. California Buckeye is a unique timber capable of develop a metallic blueish gray tint. I have worked with the burly form, I have turned the blue stained wood, and now I am pleased to showcase the curly figure: gorgeous shimmering grains with a 3D effect and a very unusual color! The black palm cap adds another set of visual complexity. Wow!
