This is a special slim threaded holder made out of Manzanita (Arctostaphylos pungens) with Mun Ebony (Diospyros mun) cap. Manzanita is a beautiful shrub with contorted, red bark branches that grows on the foot hills of California. The wood has a pretty warm red tone, and is exceptionally fine grain but notoriously difficult to dry without checks or splits. One of my favorite wood out of almost 1000 species I have collected. Most turnings were made out of the root burl, which can grow to decent size, abeit full of check and voids. Objects from the plain wood is rare due to the excessive splitting problem. This holder is fashioned out of a two-tone Manzanita wood, with a black Mun cap to highlight the nice hues and three burn lines to balance with the dark cap.
The crew-on cap makes this holder extra special and ensures that your content is secured. The slim profile fits unobtrusively in a purse or pocket for the people on the go. This holder can be used to hold toothpicks, pill, snuff, sewing needles, cash stash and small valuables...Also serves as a nice gift for someone who seems to have everything.
