This is a mini pendant box made out of Purpleheart (Peltogyne sp.). Purpleheart is astriking wood with the unusual color. The timber is brown when freshly cut but oxidizes to a bright violet purple and eventually to a dark purple with age. Hard, dense, heavy and finely textured, purpleheart is moderately hard to work with but takes a glossy, lustrous finish.  Items from Purpleheart are always eyecatchers. It brighten any collection with the striking color. This tiny box also has an o-ring inside the cap so it can be sealed tightly. The Tibetan silvers adds sparkle and a modern look to this ensemble.

This pretty pendant has a tiny secret compartment for very small daily pills or memorial keepsake. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, yet can be easily accessed. If you want a permanent seal, apply a very small amount of wood glue to the thread before closing.
