This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Black Mangrove (Avicennia germinans) with (Diospyros mun) cap. One of the mangrove species commonly grow along the shoreline community, Black Mangrove was named for it's dark heartwood. The wood is strong, heavy, and hard with interesting grain and incredible color mix. When was the last time you've seen an item made out of this timber? Capped with the lustrous Mun Ebony for a luxurious effect. I like this one!
