This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) with Betelnut (areca catechu) cap. Desert Ironwood is probably the nicest looking wood from North America, very hard, heavy, polished up to a glassy finish and the swirly grain shimmers like gold. The American Indian believes that the wood will bring luck and good health to the people who carries it. I am already feeling very lucky to have a few nice pieces to work with! The Betelnut palm cap adds visual interest to this already lustrous acorn.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for daily pills, cash stash, keepsake... Comes ready to dangle with a lobster claw attachment for your keychain or zipper pull. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
