This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Khamphi Rosewood (Dalbergia cultrata) with Betelnut (areca catechu) cap. Khamphi Rosewood is also known as Burmese blackwood and Malaysian Rosewood, a dark, true rosewood species with interesting grain pattern. The wood looks dark, but upon close inspection, it is an incredible mix of colors. I like this wood for it subtle beauty. Betel nut is an important palm nut in SE Asia and Oceania cultures. It is chewed with betel leaves and lime for the mild stimulant effect; often offered as a sign of hospitality or friendship. The nut is also accociated with legends and is a symbol for marital love. The striking pattern of this nut is just perfect for an acorn cap!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for daily pills, cash stash, keepsake... Comes ready to dangle with a lobster claw attachment for your keychain or zipper pull. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
