This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Camatillo (Dalbergia congestiflora) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap. Camatillo is a true rosewood species with a beautiful deep purple color and darker streaks. It is one of the rarer timber since the tree never grow very big. The wood is extremely fine, polishes up to a hard shine. Verawood is a fine, hard and heavy wood (also known as Argentine Lignum Vitae) with a nice green patina after exposure. The cap of this box was turned and let to "aged" in my workshop for awhile to achieve the green tone. This wood combination is just perfect for an eggplant.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Small enough to be worn as a pendant, and good for tiny daily pills, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
