This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Mun Ebony (Diospyros mun) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap. Mun Ebony is my favorite ebony species for several reasons: the wood is very fine and easy to work with, the patterns can be very striking and a hint of green make this ebony special, the wood is very stable, dimensionally. This acorn was made out of a very nice ebony piece with lighter streaks. The green tint Verawood cap brighten up this dark acorn and adds it's own set of figures. This is a cool looking nut that is exceptionally smooth to the touch and heavy in your palm. I really like this one!
