This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Thuya Burl (Tetraclinis articulata) & Fishtail Oak (Euplassa pinnata) cap. National tree of the island of Malta, Thuya Burls actually grow underground on the roots of Tetraclinis articulata trees. It is also considered something of a national treasure in Morocco. It has the golden brown tone with dark eyes and a pleasant cedar aroma. This is another one from my aromatic timber collection. The inside is not seal for your sniffing pleasure. Capped with Fishtail Oak, not a true oak, I am sure, but am not sure about the fishtail part. The wood is similar to lacewood, but denser and exhibit an interesting pattern. This acorn is fairly small, just enough space for a small ring.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
