This is a tiny acorn shaped box made out of Briar Burl (Erica arborea) with Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) cap. Briar burl is the choice material for tobacco pipes. It is the root ball of the white heath bush mainly found in the Mediterranean. The burl is very dense and has a nice orange color. It is rare due to it's small size and over harvesting. Desert Ironwood is probably the nicest looking wood from North America, very hard, heavy, polished up to a glassy finish and the swirly grain shimmers like gold. The American Indian believes that the wood will bring luck and good health to the people who carries it.

It is ready to dangle off your keychain, bag zipper, belt with the removable lobster claw. The nut is small enough to be worn as a pendant (without the claw). Good for small daily pills, keepsake...Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. For a permanent seal, apply a small amount of wood glue to the threads before closing. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
