This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of American Holly (Illex opaca) with White Elephant Palm Nut (Kerriodoxa elegans) cap. I like to experiment with palm nuts, specially those with the beautiful pattern. These natural materials are hard and dense, often referred to as vegetable ivory due to the similarity in properties. Only here in my shop, you can find several species of these nuts transform into threaded caps. This acorn was made from a rare species of palm with interesting polka dot pattern. Fun, isn't it? The light color of the nut, plus the white wood of Holly makes an interesting and bright acorn.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. It is ready to dangle off your keychain, bag zipper, belt with the removable lobster claw. The nut is small enough to be worn as a pendant (without the claw). Good for small daily pills, keepsake...Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is (unless you wrap your pill). Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
