This is a pretty slim threaded holder made out of Cork Oak (Quercus suber) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap.   As you can probably tell, I have a weakness for oaks and their acorns.  A symbol of strength and endurance, oak is the national tree of many Western countries, including the US.  Cork Oak is even more special for producing all those corks that you uncorked for special (or not so special) occasions.  Unlike some porous oaks, this species has very fine grain wood that accept threading nicely.  Betelnut is also a nut for special occasion for SE Asian cultures.  In Viet Nam, it is one of the required wedding gift the groom has to bring to the bride's home on wedding day. The nut is offered in combination with Betel leave and some other ingredients as a sign of hospitality in formal gatherings.  So, this is the holder of special occasions.
