This is a cute acorn box made from Balau Burl (Shorea obtusa) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. Although South East Asian Balau wood is a highly rated commercial timber, its burl is a rare find. And what a beauty it is. Full of eyes and swirling grains apparent even in this small acorn. Capped with the eye-catching palm nut, this acorn is a beauty.
