This is a mini pendant box made out of Ohia-Lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) with Yollilo Palm Nut (Raphia taedigera) cap. Ohia is a special timber from the Islands of Hawaii. The tree is associated with many legends. Capped with a palm nut from South America. The nut with its interesting pattern is often use to make natural beads and jewelry
This pretty pendant has a tiny secret compartment for very small daily pills or memorial keepsake. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, yet can be easily accessed. If you want a permanent seal, apply a very small amount of wood glue to the thread before closing.
Dimension (largest diameter x height): 3/4" x 2"
-- All wood turned items were hand made and/or hand threaded on a lathe. Hardwood threaded inserts were used for woods that do not accept threading well.
