This is a rare acorn shaped box made out of Sandalwood (Santalum freycinetianum) & Betel nut (Areca catechu) cap.  Sandalwood is a parasitic small tree that establishes on the roots of host trees. The oil from the wood has a distinctive, pleasant scent. The aromatic oil from the wood is also used for medicine and perfume.  The inside of this acorn was not sealed with a finish for your sniffing pleasure.  The eyecatching betelnut cap adds visual interest to this aromatic acorn.

A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Over-tighten the cap just a bit to lock the nut in place, you should feel some resistance with the first 1/8 of a turn when you try to open it.  Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
