This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Pink Ivory (Berchemia zeyheri) with Brown Ebony (Caesalpina paraguariensis). Pink Ivory is an exotic wood native to Southern Africa, and is one of the most rare and beautiful woods in the world. The color ranges from salmon to pink to dark red, but tends to shift hue with time. It is a very hard and heavy wood, deem sacred by the Zulu tribe. Here is a piece with the salmon tint. Capped with an ebony wannabe, very well suited for an ivory wannabe.
