This is a decent size acorn shaped box made out of Curly Asian Satinwood (Lagerstroemia calyculata) with Black Walnut (Juglans negra) cap.  Pyinma is also known as Asian Satinwood. It is in the same family as the ornamental Crape Myrtle.  I am not sure how crooked these trees grow, but all Pyinma wood I have seen so far are of the curly figure type, more or less.  The nice sheen of this wood, couple with it's 3D effect satisfies the eyes in a special way.  Capped with a nice piece of black walnut for added visual interest.
