This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Snakewood (Piratinera guianensis) with Suriname Ironwood (Bocoa prouacensis) cap. This two timbers are super hard and dense, polish up to a hard shine. Snakewood has the interesting pattern found nowhere else. It is also one of the most expensive when possesses a nice pattern like what I have here. Suriname Ironwood lives up to it's namesake, dulling my cutting tools at an alarming rate. I don't deserve the trouble while turning them but they surely deserve each other. I like this one!
