This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Asian Satinwood Burl (Lagerstroemia calyculata) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap. From Southeast Asia, this Crape Myrtle relative is one of the most impressive flowering tree. The wood is often highly figured, specially with curly, fiddleback patterns that shimmer in 3D. Of course, it wasn't called Satinwood for nothing. The burl is even more special, choke full of eyes! A gorgeous nut like this deserve a special cap, and the interesting Verawood makes the whole thing a visual feast. Ilike to have an inventory of colorful items for my shop and nothing brighten up the lot better than the unusual, green tinted Verawood. A relative of Lignum Vitae, this timber is hard and heavy. The green color will deepen with time. This is one of a very few woods that gets greener as it ages! I really like this one!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
