This is a pretty acorn shaped box made out of Tulipwood (Dalbergia decipularis) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. Tulipwood is a true rosewood species native to the tropical region of South America, mainly Brazil. It is a hard, heavy, fine textured timber capable of a brilliant finish. Tulipwood has irregular streaks of yellow, rose and red or violet on a light background and is one of the brightest of the rosewoods, color-wise. I don't know why it is called Tulipwood, but I have a few very pretty Tulips blooming right now in my garden with exactly the same streaky pink color. Capped with Betelnut for added effect!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
