This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Quillabordon (Aspidosperma subincanum) with Bocote (Cordia gerascanthus) cap. From Peru, Quillabordon is a striking timber with a non-fading golden yellow color. It is another not often seen timber and apparently rare, at least over here. The wood grain is often plain with very little pattern or color variation, but the bright color really make this wood stand out. The extravagant Mexican Bocote cap more than made up for the simlicity of the nut. I really like the way this acorn look!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
