This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Australian Corrugata burl (Eucalyptus corrugata) with Australian Sheoak (Allocasuarina fraseriana) cap. Corrugata is another eucalyptus species from Australia. I have never seen the lumber, just the burl: hard, dense, heavy, loaded with eyes and swirls, just gorgeous. Sheoak is one of the rarest and most spectacular woods in the world. It has a dark red to orange heart wood with the prominent lacey medullary rays. This acorn showcases the incredible natural patterns of two Australian species.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
