This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) with Bocote (Cordia gerascanthus) cap. Verawood, also know as Argentine Lignum Vitae, is another interesting wood that will eventually turns green. It is a fine, hard and heavy wood that resemble Lignum Vitae. The green color in this one is particularly vibrant and will deepen with light exposure. The shimmering lighter streaks differentiates this species from the true lignum, which tends to be much darker and more uniform. Also from Latin America, Bocote is a spectacular wood with a warm background and wild black streaks. This combination of woods is particularly handsome and is one of my favorite. Green acorn, anyone?
