This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Nagusta Burl (Terminalia amazonia) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap. Also called Canxan Negro or Ironwood Burl (not to be confused with the Desert Ironwood), Nargusta is a tropical hardwood species with a wide range throughout Central and northern South America. Althouh considered a commercial timber, I have never seen the timber imported to the US; only the burly form is sometimes available. It is very dense and pretty with subtle multi-color swirls. This super heavy burl deserves a super dense cap, and Verawood fit the bill, adding it's beautiful green color and shimmering streaks. This acorn is a real beauty!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
