This is a very pretty acorn shaped pendant box made out of Gray Pyinma (Lagerstroemia pyinma) with Royal Palm (Roystonea regia) cap. Pyinma is also known as Asian Satinwood. It is in the same family as the ornamental Crape Myrtle. I am not sure how crooked these trees grow, but all Pyinma wood I have seen so far are of the curly figure type, more or less. The nice sheen of this wood, couple with it's 3D effect satisfies the eyes in a special way. Another special aspect of this one is the unusual metallic greenish-gray color as opposed to the usual honey tone. I have came across this color variation only once, and regretted that I did not purchase more of it. The nut looks specially handsome with the hard-to-made Royal palm cap. I really like this one!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for daily pills, cash stash, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
