This is a very pretty acorn shaped pendant box made out of Northern Catalpa Burl (Catalpa speciosa) Black Palm (Borassus flabellifer) cap. Catalpa is a beautiful ornamental tree with clusters of trumpet-like blooms. The wood is kinda plain but this is a rare specimen of a burly form. What a beauty! The swirls and eyes are so dense that they show up nicely on such a small item. Coupled with the interesting and subtle pattern of Black Palm, this acorn is truly an eyecatcher!
