This is a pretty slim threaded holder made out of Blue Mahoe (Taliparti elatum) with Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa) cap. Blue Mahoe is Jamaica's national tree; one of the wood with unique purplish-blue color and nice, subtle sheen that is very difficult to photograph. It is a rare timber belongs to the Hibiscus family with similar showy flower. Cocobolo is a true rosewood from Mexico with prominent darker streaking on the nice warm tone wood. It is a very dense wood that polish up nicely. This holder has the unusual color combination that distinguises it from the typical wooden appearance.
