This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Cocobolo rosewood (Dalbergia retusa) with Tambooti (Spirostachys africanus) cap. Cocobolo is a true rosewood from Mexico with prominent darker streaking on the nice warm tone wood. The color ranges from brilliant oranges to deep coffee brown. It is a very dense wood that polish up nicely. This wood has recently being placed on export restriction. Also called African Sandalwood, Tambooti is an oily timber with a persistent aroma. I found the scent not as strong as I expected. It is another beautiful, lustrous timber with wild dark streaks that reflects the streaks in Cocobolo.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
