This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Marblewood (Marmaroxylon racemosum) with Gaboon Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) cap. I know why it's called Marblewood. The random dark veins give it an appearance somewhat similar to natural marble, but the real reason is the thing is so hard and heavy like a block of stone. I was surpise at how hard it is considering the porous look. It is one of the more distinctively beautiful timber with the high contrast dark streaks wandering through the light background. This acorn is small, but you can still see the pretty pattern. The ebony cap adds accent without distraction.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Small enough to be worn as a pendant, and good for tiny daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
