This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Kingwood (Dalbergia caerencis) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap. Brazilian Kingwood is a beautiful member of the rosewood family with a violet hue. It is a dense wood that polishes up to a lustrous finish. It was a popular wood for high-end furniture of the 18th Century, specially that of King Louis XV and XVI (hence, the name Kingwood). It is now becoming becoming very rare and expensive. Also from South America, Verawood is a special wood that turns green with exposure. The green cap pairs exceptionally well with the purple nut. I like this one!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Small enough to be worn as a pendant, and good for tiny daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
