This is a necklace with a secret compartment pendant made from Lignum Vitae (Guiacum officinale). Genuine Lignum Vitae is quite famous for being "the densest wood in the world". The wood is also believed to have medicinal properties in its resins and chips; "Lignum Vitae" is Latin for "Wood of Life." Official National Flower of Jamaica, the timber is now rare and expensive. What's more, it can eventually develop a dark green patina, one of a very few woods that just gets greener as it aged!

This pretty pendant has a tiny secret compartment for very small daily pills or memorial keepsake. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, yet can be easily accessed. If you want a permanent seal, apply a very small amount of wood glue to the thread before closing.
