This is a pretty slim threaded holder made out of Calabura (Muntingia calabura) with Mun Ebony (Diospyros mun) cap. Also known as Jamaican Cherry, Carabula is a tree I grew up with. There was a very old one on the front yard of my elementary school. I used to come early and pick up the small, shiny red fruit littered around the tree. The fruit has a sweet taste and a unique aroma. The locals called it "Trung Ca", or Fish Egg" because of the tiny yellow seeds floating inside the jelly interior. This species is fairly common in the tropics but I can not find it here, so this wood is not something you see often. Capped with Mun Ebony, another wood I grew up with. This container opens a wide memory lane for me.
The crew-on cap makes this holder extra special and ensures that your content is secured. The slim profile fits unobtrusively in a purse or pocket for the people on the go. This holder can be used to hold toothpicks, pill, snuff, sewing needles, cash stash and small valuables...Also serves as a nice gift for someone who seems to have everything.
