This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of York Gum Burl (Eucalyptus loxophleba) & Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa) cap. York gum is a species of Eucalyptus which is endemic to Western Australia. The species is often imported as burl form, the wood itself is not a commercial timber. The burl is very pretty with it's swirly grains and a warm golden brown tone. It is hard and dense enough to be threaded directly. Cocobolo is a true rosewood from Mexico with prominent darker streaking on the nice warm tone wood. It is a very dense wood that polish up nicely. The Cocobolo cap adds vibrant to this earthy nut.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
